This Weekend we celebrate our Church Aniversary
Opened on Saturday March 20th 1954
we are mindfull of all those who in past had the vision and the commitment to provide us with the building we have today

The Rt Hon Lord Mackintosh of Halifax D.L. LLL.D. J.P.
performed the opening ceremony by unlocking the door
Rev Albert Hearn preached the Dedication Sermon

The history leading up to this event shows how determined the folk were to provide us with a church.
| 1909 | The original site on the corner of Plumstead Rd and Barrack Rd was purchased. Camp Meetings were held and a small hut erected for Worship |
| 1910 | The temporary Church was opened |
| 1942 | Church was destroyed by enemy action |
| 1944 | Heartsease Lane site purchased |
| 1946 | Wooden Huts erected on the new site were opened |
| 1949 | A Nissen Hut, called the "Francis Hall" was opened |
| 1953 | The stonelaying ceremony for the new Church |
| 1954 | Completion and Dedication of the Church we have today |
