 Ken BuckleyWells in India

When my husband, Ken, died in October 2008, many of you were very generous in your donations in his memory and each trust received just over £540.

Rev Pat Atkinson, of the Vidiyal Trust, said she knew just where the money could go.  She was thrilled to think that some new homes being built for boys and girls in Mavelikara could have a well to provide water for daily use.  She envisaged one well to provide the water but the amount of money donated has enabled the Trust to create three wells, one outside each home and one outside the kitchen.  She was so excited to think that as Ken’s work had always included water, that in his death, so the funds in his memory should be put to such good use in helping others.

Pat also said that out there in India it is the done thing to recognisewhere the money for the particular project has come from, by placing a plaque on or near the item created.  So as you can see by the attached photograph, the plaque in Ken’s memory is there on one of the wells.

My grateful thanks to everyone.

Tricia Buckley

A Norwich church football team has risen from the ashes of a devastating arson attack in June when it lost all its equipment, to now form a new club with three teams all playing in the local Christian Football League.

In June, an arson attack completely gutted The Kabin community centre next to the Heartsease Towers in Norwich, destroying £700 of equipment from Witard Road Baptist Church FC, who won the Norfolk Christian Football League title last season.
